The history of the Galapagos Islands is built, above all, through the sum of an infinity of small personal stories: biographies that, like small links, join to form the enormous chain of memory and historical narrative. In this section, brief sketches of the life and work of some of the protagonists of the great social and scientific image of the archipelago will be presented.

Librarians and archivists are trained to reconstruct facts from the little bits of knowledge and memory that we store on our shelves.
